Edmonton dominated Anaheim early in Game 1, securing a two-point lead. The Ducks fought back, but Kasperi Kapanen’s second goal of the matchup sealed the win. Connor McDavid had a quiet night, failing to record a goal or an assist.

The superstar center has been in excellent form this season, and it has been rare for the Oilers to win without McDavid contributing a point. He registered 44 goals and 106 assists for 150 points in 97 regular-season games. McDavid led the league in points and assists.

Game 2 is set for Thursday at Rogers Place in Edmonton.
