Vinesh was set to play her gold medal match on Wednesday in opposition to Sarah Hindebrandt of the USA. After her disqualification, silver medal will not be awarded to any wrestler within the 50kg class. One gold and two bronze medals shall be awarded in he 50kg lady wrestling competitors on the Paris Olympics.
The United World Wrestling’s rule guide, particularly Article 11, says, “If an athlete doesn’t attend or fail the weigh-in (the first or the 2nd weigh-in), he shall be eradicated of the competitors and ranked final, with out rank.” Photograph: File
