WASHINGTON (Reuters) -U.S. Senate Democratic chief Chuck Schumer mentioned on Tuesday that he hoped Twitter didn’t develop into a “darker” place below the possession of Elon Musk.
“In some ways Twitter has been a darkish, darkish place. I hope it does not get any darker,” Schumer informed reporters when requested about Musk’s buy of the social media firm.
Schumer’s Republican counterpart, Senator Mitch McConnell, referred to as the Musk takeover an “unbelievable occasion.” He added: “It is going to be fascinating to see what impression it has on the way in which Twitter operates. However we’re all watching it with quite a lot of curiosity as a result of there definitely have been our share of complaints about the way in which it has been run previously.”
On Monday, Musk nailed down a deal to purchase Twitter Inc (NYSE:) for $44 billion.
