THIS is the terrifying moment a Russian missile plummeted from the sky into a busy Kyiv motorway packed with cars.

The narrow escape comes after Vladimir Putin ordered 11 ballistic and cruise missiles at Ukraine’s capital on Monday as part of his latest blitz.

Dashcam footage showed the missile debris falling from the sky as it crashed into traffic on a busy road in Kyiv.

Cars were seen travelling at a normal speed when the missile smashed into the ground.

It failed to explode and was later engulfed in flames as black smoke spewed out.

Kyiv locals seemed undeterred, as traffic continued to drive around the obstacle.

There were no casualties as a result of the incident, it was reported.

It follows Ukrainian chiefs who warned the country could face nuclear attacks after drones blitzed Moscow.

A wave of kamikaze flying bombs targeted posh suburbs of the Russian capital where Putin and his cronies have luxury retreats.

The unmanned air strikes came hours after a Ukrainian commander vowed to avenge the latest of a string of Russian air raids on Kyiv.

But Ukraine denied any involvement amid fears that the attacks were another “false flag” ruse ordered by Putin himself to enable him to escalate the conflict.

The Kremlin went on to directly accuse Ukraine of targeting Russia – a claim which backs Putin’s lie that Ukraine and the West are bent on destroying his motherland.

Putin said Ukraine was attempting “to intimidate Russia, Russian citizens and attacks on residential buildings”.

He said: “We have spoken about hitting command centres (in Ukraine).

“In response, the Kyiv regime has chosen a different path, the path of trying to frighten Russia, frighten the citizens of Russia and of strikes on residential buildings.

“Moscow’s air defense system worked normally, satisfactorily, although there is some work to do.”

Within hours hardline pro-Putin MPs were baying for a nuclear response.

However, that same day the boss of Wagner Group blasted Putin’s “scumbag” cronies after Moscow was rattled by the huge drone blitz.

In a furious rant, Yevgeny Prigozhin said he was “deeply outraged” by Putin’s troops doing “f**k all” to stop the barrage of drones reaching the Russian capital.

Several were shot down over the plush district of Rublyovka and caused damage and injuries as the Ukraine war appeared to be coming to Putin’s own backyard.

Raging Prigozhin branded Putin’s forces “smelly scumbags” after they failed to stop the drones from reaching Moscow.

According to a translation by War Translated, he fumed: “Smelly scumbags! What are you doing?

“Get your a**** up from the cabinets you’ve been put in to protect this country.

“You are the Ministry of Defence. You’ve done f**k all in order to advance.

“Why the f**k are you allowing the arrival of these UAVs to Moscow?”

He added: “What are regular people meant to do when UAVs with explosives crash into their houses?

“As a citizen, I’m deeply outraged that these scumbags calmly sit on their fat a**** smeared with expensive creams.

“I believe that the people have the full right to ask them these questions, to these morons.

“I warned about it many times. But no one wants to listen.”

Earlier this month, Prigozhin again branded Putin’s defence chiefs “scum” who get fat in offices while leaving his mercenary troops to die without ammunition.

Footage showed drones flying overhead in the Moscow region on Tuesday before being shot down in plumes of black smoke.

Residents said they heard loud bangs followed by the smell of petrol.

Blocks of flats and other tall buildings had windows blown out as locals scattered in panic while FSB intelligence investigators rushed to multiple sites.

Russian lawmaker Maxim Ivanov branded the barrage of drones the worst attack on Moscow since World War Two.

“You will either defeat the enemy as a single fist with our Motherland, or the indelible shame of cowardice, collaboration and betrayal will engulf your family,” he said.

And Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said it was “quite clear” the strikes were “Kyiv regime’s response to our very effective strikes on one of the decision-making centres”.

It marks the second attack on Moscow after two drones hit the Kremlin earlier this month in what was branded an assassination attempt on Putin.

Moscow has remained largely undisturbed by the ravages of Putin’s war, which has killed up to 200,000 Russian troops and claimed the lives of thousands of Ukrainian civilians.
