Attention spent on aging populations and lower birth rates is typically focused on Japan and South Korea, but it’s not limited to just them in reality. Look at Portugal, Spain, Germany, and Italy. The EU is in trouble. China has admitted that it’s data is wrong and Russia’s is almost certainly incorrect as well. It’s a worldwide problem through most of the developed and developing world with significant long term consequences. Add in long term food and energy shortages as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and things are about to get very, very complicated.
