Joachim Trier’s household drama Sentimental Worth, which received the Cannes Grand Prix in Might, has come out because the frontrunner in key classes on the nomination stage for the European Movie Awards.
The work has been nominated for Greatest European Movie, Greatest European Director and Greatest Screenplay whereas co-stars Renate Reinsve and Stellan Skarsgard have been nominated for Greatest European Actress and Actor respectively.
Additional frontrunners embody Oliver Laxe’s Morocco-set drama Sirāt with 4 nominations, adopted by Mascha Schilinski’s debut movie Sound of Falling and Jafar Panahi’s It Was Simply An Accident with three nominations every.
The European Movie Academy, which oversees the awards, unveiled nominees for 9 key classes on Tuesday in Spain on the Seville European Movie Competition together with for Greatest European Animated Function and European Documentary
The nominations are primarily based on the votes of 5,400 members of the European Movie Academy who’ve been watching the movies included within the annual Academy Shortlist.
Additional nominations shall be introduced subsequent week and the winners shall be unveiled on the European Movie Award awards ceremony on 17 January, 2026 in Berlin.
