Russia launches third ballistic missile assault on Kyiv this month, Ukraine says By Reuters

KYIV (Reuters) – Russia launched on Sunday its third ballistic missile on Kyiv in August, with preliminary knowledge displaying that each one the air weapons have been destroyed on their method to town, the army administration of the Ukrainian capital stated.

“That is already the third ballistic strike on the capital in August, with actual intervals of six days between every assault,” Serhiy Popko, the top of the Kyiv army administration, stated on the Telegram messaging app.

“In keeping with preliminary data, the Russians once more, for the third time in a row, most definitely used North Korean ballistic missiles.”

Popko added that Ukraine’s air defence models additionally destroyed various drones launched by Russia.

The scope of the assault was not instantly clear. Popko stated there have been no instant studies of casualties or injury.

Reuters couldn’t independently confirm the kind of missiles launched. A Reuters witness heard blasts that seemed like air defence methods early on Sunday.

About two hours after the preliminary assault, Kyiv, its surrounding area and most of central and northeast Ukraine have been below recent raid alerts, with threats of extra missiles heading in the direction of town, Ukraine’s air drive stated.
