Qualcomm revamps cell phone chips for AI, indicators Samsung and others By Reuters

(Reuters) – Qualcomm (NASDAQ:) stated on Monday it’s bringing know-how first developed for its laptop computer chips to its cell phone chips, aiming to make them extra highly effective for generative AI duties.

The San Diego-based firm is the world’s largest vendor of cell phone chips. In an effort to broaden its enterprise, the corporate in 2021 employed a gaggle of ex-Apple engineers to assist it design laptop computer chips, which went on sale this yr and are serving to energy AI options in Microsoft (NASDAQ:)’s Home windows.
