Putin declares Easter ceasefire; Zelenskyy says Russian bombardment ‘has not subsided’

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated on Saturday that, in response to his high commander, Russian artillery fireplace had not subsided regardless of the Kremlin’s proclamation of an Easter ceasefire.

“As of now, in response to the Commander-in-Chief studies, Russian assault operations proceed on a number of frontline sectors, and Russian artillery fireplace has not subsided,” Zelenskyy wrote on the social media platform X.

He recalled that Russia had final month rejected a U.S.-proposed full 30-day ceasefire and stated that if Moscow agreed to “really have interaction in a format of full and unconditional silence, Ukraine will act accordingly — mirroring Russia’s actions.”

Trump threatens to ‘take a cross’ on additional Russia-Ukraine peace talks

Putin’s ceasefire announcement got here after U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday stated negotiations between Ukraine and Russia are “coming to a head” and insisted that neither aspect is “enjoying” him in his push to finish the grinding three-year conflict.
