Starting from Tarn Taran district in Punjab, Rinda had shifted to Chandigarh before entering the world of crime. It was on Rinda’s directions on the night of November 7, 2021, gangsters had hurled a hand grenade at the CIA office in Nawanshahr with the intention to kill cops. But, police officials had escaped unhurt. on November 11, 2016, Rinda along with his accomplices had shot dead a rival gangster, Vivek Sharma, in Ropar. On April 10, 2018, Rinda and his accomplices had allegedly killed Satnam Singh, sarpanch of Khurd village in Hoshiarpur district, outside a gurdwara in Sector 38 West, Chandigarh.
Rinda had been colluding with henchman Lakhbir Singh Landa, a Canada-based gangster, to unleash terror in Punjab. Arrested dreaded gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is in police custody, is also linked to Rinda.
