“I just can’t see you do this to yourself anymore. Don’t trust your brain, okay?” Vertical has debuted the trailer for an indie romantic drama called Parachute, the feature directorial debut from actress Brittany Snow. This originally premiered at the 2023 SXSW Film Festival one year ago. It also played at the Dallas, Woodstock, Raindance, & Denver Film Festivals last year. From director Brittany Snow, Parachute tells the story of Riley and Ethan, who must navigate blossoming love and friendship and intimacy while trying to overcome combustible personal struggles. The film focuses on Riley, who was recently released from rehab after struggling with eating disorders and body image. She meets Ethan and finds herself navigating the line between love and a new addiction. The film stars Courtney Eaton as Riley and Thomas Mann as Ethan, with Francesca Reale, Gina Rodriguez, Joel McHale, Dave Bautista, and Scott Mescudi. This has a similar look and feel as the acclaimed film Like, Crazy, about two passionate lovers trying to make it work.

In Parachute, Riley (Courtney Eaton) is a fun and energetic young woman, but struggles with an eating disorder and body image issues. Ethan (Thomas Mann) is a once-promising musician in the end of his 20s. The two meet and just “click.” To Ethan, all of Riley’s flaws are beautiful, he wants to help her see herself the way he does. Riley adores Ethan and is inspired by his talent and selflessness. Their relationship is a balancing act between their love for each other and their combustible personal issues. But they truly feel like soulmates and the world makes sense only when they take it on together. Parachute is directed by the American actress / filmmaker Brittany Snow, making her feature directorial debut after one other short film previously. The screenplay is written by Becca Gleason and Brittany Snow. Produced by Jordan Yale Levine, Jordan Beckerman, and Lizzie Shapiro. This initially premiered at the 2023 SXSW Film Festival last year. Vertical will debut Snow’s Parachute in select US theaters starting on April 5th, 2024 coming soon.
