A MASS grace with 47 sacks containing human remains was discovered underneath the dancefloor of a nightclub in Mexico.

The grim find believed to be linked to the ruthless Jalisco New Generation Cartel, one of the most violent cartels in the country, was unearthed last week after the arrest of nine alleged members of the cartel.

Cops were led by the suspects to an industrial warehouse turned nightclub in Tenango del Valle, about an hour from Mexico City.

The discovery of the remains came after police had to use a building-site digger to break up the floor at the property in the La Joya neighborhood.

Horrified investigators discovered a secret mass grave under the floor of human body parts which are thought to be of at least 20 people.

A total of 47 sacks filled with human remains were taken away for forensic examination, local media reported.

The exact number of the victims and their identities remain unknown.

Both men’s and women’s clothing were found at the site.

Police were led to a number of different locations including the warehouse in Tenango del Valle.

Among those arrested was the presumed leader of the cartel, Jaime Luis ‘El Pozolero’ – who is accussed of kidnapping a woman in Tenancingo last year.

Before releasing her in August, he and his henchmen had torn off pieces of her fingers.

He was arrested at the time but managed to escape until he was seized again last week.

Cops also seized a number of firearms and bulletproof vests.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office has said the find is strange, as the CJNG is mostly active in Jalisco, Michoacan, Guanajuato, and Zacatecas States.

Mexico State, however, is the turf of the rival cartel La Familia Michoacana.

There is speculation the CJNG moved in after confrontations with authorities in Mexico State left La Familia Michoacana weakened or both cartels agreed to a non-aggression pact.

Officials are now working to identify the victims.

It comes as another alleged member of the deadly cartel was arrested on Tuesday.

Alma Antonia Calderón García, dubbed “Cartel Queen,” who is the wife of a high-ranking member of the group was arrested by authorities last week.

Also known as Almilla, she is accused of kidnapping five people with her husband, Lucas Fierros Mora, or El Mataguaches, who is believed to be the cartel’s leader in the city of Aguililla, Michoacán.

García was arrested by authorities in Tierra Caliente after she was caught transporting big quantities of drugs.

Her husband is accused of being involved in a series of crimes including murders, kidnappings, and even bomb attacks on military personnel.

The couple is acussed of kidnapping five people from the village of La Bocanda in December- all of whom remain missing.

Violence in Mexico has escalated in the past weeks following the arrest of El Chapo’s son Ovidio Guzman, 32.

The arrest of Ovidio, who allegedly took over as head of the Sinaloa cartel, triggered a wave of violence across Sinaloa state with authorities deploying the army into the streets.

At least 29 people died in clashes between cartel members and security forces.
