Liza Koshy definitely made a splash on the 2024 Oscars red carpet!
The Players actress stepped out at the Academy Awards on Sunday in Los Angeles dressed to impress in a red curve-hugging Marchesa gown paired with sky-high platform heels and Simon G Jewelry. While the elegant ensemble was a perfect fit for the star-studded occasion, it proved to be just the right combination for an unexpected tumble.
While posing for photographers, the social media star, 27, took a few steps down the carpet before falling backward to the floor. Despite the awkward moment, Koshy kept her cool and got back on her feet with the help of of two people nearby, who helped her stand up and situated her dress.
In footage from the red carpet, fans can see just how tricky her shoes are for the occasion as they not only have a platform bottom, but also a tall stiletto heel. Paired with the mermaid silhouette of her dress — including the tightness at the knee — and flared skirt, Koshy’s look was far from the easiest to maneuver down the carpet. No matter how demanding a style, Koshy does not shy away from bold looks on a red carpet. At the Golden Globes in 2023, she rocked a black sheer lace gown accented with black beading and a dramatically low back that showed her lace thong.
