India extends ban on pro-Khalistani outfit Sikhs for Justice by 5 years

The Ministry of Dwelling Affairs (MHA) introduced on Tuesday that the ban on the pro-Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun’s organisation, Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), has been prolonged for an additional 5 years. The MHA prolonged the ban on the terrorist group for 5 years from July 10, information company ANI reported on Tuesday.

The ban was initially imposed in 2019. In response to a notification launched by the Union Dwelling Ministry, SFJ has been discovered to have interaction in actions deemed “prejudicial to the interior safety of India and public order.” 

The ministry additional highlighted that the actions of SFJ possess the potential to destabilise the peace, unity, and integrity of the nation.

The ministry mentioned SFJ has been discovered to be concerned in anti-national and subversive actions in Punjab, with the intention to disrupt the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India.

The SFJ has been accused of “being in shut contact with militant outfits and activists, and is supporting violent type of extremism and militancy in Punjab and elsewhere to carve out a sovereign Khalistan out of the territory of Union of India.”

The ministry mentioned the pro-Khalistani outfit is selling and facilitating actions geared toward separating a portion of Indian land from the Union of India. This contains offering help to separatist teams inside India and in different areas who’re striving for a similar purpose.

The Centre mentioned that if the “illegal actions of SFJ” should not managed instantly, the pro-Khalistani outfit will escalate its “subversive actions together with makes an attempt to carve out Khalistan Nation out of the territory of Union of India by destabilising the Authorities established by regulation”.
