Hyundai to combine Made-in-India AGM batteries in home fashions

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), the second largest automotive maker in India, is ready to include Made-in-India AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) four-wheeler batteries, developed by Amara Raja Power & Mobility Ltd., throughout its home product line up.

These India-manufactured AGM batteries will function SLI (Beginning, Lighting, and Ignition) batteries. In accordance with a press release, AGM batteries demonstrated roughly 150 per cent better sturdiness in comparison with standard CMF (Full Upkeep Free) batteries, with an prolonged operational temperature vary and superior lifespan.

HMIL plans to start equipping its fashions with these domestically produced AGM batteries within the fourth quarter of FY 2024-2025. “HMIL is ready to turn into the primary auto OEM in India to combine indigenously manufactured AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) battery know-how into its merchandise, made by Amara Raja,” said Gopalakrishnan Chathapuram Sivaramakrishnan, Entire-time Director and Chief Manufacturing Officer – HMIL.

HMIL has been strengthening its localisation efforts by a devoted staff, collaborating with over 194 distributors to supply greater than 1,238 elements and trim components for its Chennai manufacturing facility.
