Hilaria Baldwin is sharing her thoughts on Alec Baldwin’s involuntary manslaughter charges — just weeks after begging for privacy!
As we’ve been following, the New Mexico District Attorney’s Office announced two weeks ago that Alec and Rust’s armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed would be charged with involuntary manslaughter for the 2021 fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins (inset below) on the set of their western. The charge normally carries up to 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine, but since a firearm was involved in this accident, they’re looking at a mandatory sentence of five years in jail.
Alec was not only the actor who unsuspectingly fired the lethal gunshot via a prop gun he was allegedly unaware was loaded, but he was also a producer on the film. It’s no doubt been a hard year as he navigates this legal trouble, but now, his wife is speaking out… and maybe making everything worse?!

On Sunday, Hilaria took to her iHeartRadio podcast Witches Anonymous to get candid about how she and her family are holding up in this stressful time — and she sounded devastated!! Interestingly, her fake Spanish accent was pretty much non-existent, replaced with a hoarse, faltering voice as she shared an update and thanked her fans for their support. The 39-year-old began:
“It’s been an emotional time for my family. And I do so want to express to you how grateful I am for your support and your kindness and your reason.”
She went on to claim that she and Alec are holding on by the skin of their teeth, adding:
“Quite honestly, I think without it, we would crumble. So, thank you so much for being our rock right now because I don’t feel so strong.”
We can’t help but notice how Hilaria doesn’t take a moment to acknowledge the real tragedy at hand: a woman, mother, and wife lost her life on the Rust set! So while it may be an “emotional” time for the Baldwins, just think about what it’s been like for Halyna’s loved ones!! Just saying…

The Bostonian, who shares kids Carmen, 9, Rafael, 7, Leonardo, 6, Romeo, 4, Eduardo, 2, María, 23 months, and Ilaria, 4 months, with the 30 Rock alum, went on to open up about how her little ones are dealing with this controversy, saying:
“Kids are sponges and certain conversations are not always age appropriate. We cannot deny that they don’t feel the energy and pick up on certain things in the family and at home, also parenting little people can be stressful regardless of added stress.”
It’s certainly a complicated time for the family, and we wish the kids didn’t have to be witness to this sad ordeal, but it’s not surprising that they might be picking up on some of the tensions at home. This would be a lot for anyone to handle! Listen to the full ep. HERE.
It doesn’t help that the family’s been hounded by the press ever since the shooting. In fact, earlier this month, the yoga instructor made a big fuss when speaking to reporters outside of her NYC apartment. After being photographed in an eye-catching “empathy” sweatshirt, she gathered everyone around to tell them that she actually wasn’t going to be telling them anything. Yes, seriously! She said:
“I’m only gonna say it once. I’m going to tell you what I want to say. I want you guys to realize we have seven kids. You being here [when I have to] escort them to school and when they come home — is not good. On a human level, you guys know I’m not going to say anything to you. You know that. So please leave my family in peace. And let this all play out. OK? So let my kids come home and you stay away from them. Because they ask me, ‘Mommy, what are these people doing?’ And it’s a very hard thing as a mom, to try and explain. So please, go home. I am not going to say anything and Alec is not going to say anything.”

Oh, and her very fake Spanish accent was on full display, too. Funny how it seems to come and go as she pleases…
Tensions are likely only rising at the Baldwin home these days as Alec is expected to be officially charged early next week. His attorney, Luke Nikas, has made it clear he plans to fight.
