The European Fee on Monday stated it’s in touch with Spanish and Portuguese authorities after an enormous energy outage induced blackouts throughout the Iberian Peninsula.
“The fee is in touch with the nationwide authorities of Spain and Portugal … to know the underlying trigger and the influence of the state of affairs,” a spokeswoman stated in Brussels.
“There are protocols in place to revive the functioning of the system,” she added.
Energy grids throughout Spain and Portugal dropped at round 12:30 pm (1030 GMT) on Monday, inflicting trains to cease, in keeping with Spanish railway firm Renfe.
Authorities are racing to revive electrical energy to the affected areas.
