Investing.com – US stock futures traded mixed during Tuesday’s evening deals, following a losing session that marked the start of the holiday-shortened trading week.

The December report, due out on Wednesday, could provide further insights into the health of the consumer sector, with traders anticipating a rise of 0.4% in December, a slight increase from 0.3% in November.
The earnings season continues on Wednesday with results from Charles Schwab Corp (NYSE:), U.S. Bancorp (NYSE:), and Prologis Inc (NYSE:). The Federal Reserve’s and for November are also due for release, along with remarks from John , President and CEO of the New York Federal Reserve.

Tuesday’s trading session saw major benchmark indices decline as the fourth-quarter earnings season kicked into gear. The fell 231.86 points, or 0.6%, while the and slipped 0.4% and 0.2%, respectively.
On the bond markets, rates were at 4.065%.
