Israel’s Ministry of Protection will purchase 5 “Reshef” class Sa’ar quick assault missile ships from Israel Shipyards at a price of NIS 2.8 billion. This is likely one of the largest Israel-made procurement offers in recent times, and is a part of the Ministry of Protection’s coverage of strengthening impartial Israeli arms manufacturing. The deal has been authorised by the ministerial procurement committee and the Knesset joint committee on the protection price range.

The brand new Reshef class ship would be the most superior within the Israel Navy. It’s a multi-mission ship developed together with the Navy, and carries essentially the most superior weapons programs produced by Israel’s protection business. Its superior know-how is designed to offer the Israel Navy distinctive capabilities and maritime supremacy. The Reshef class vessels will exchange the Navy’s veteran “Nirit” class Sa’ar 4.5 ships, which will likely be decommissioned after forty years.

Below the settlement with the Ministry of Protection, Israel Shipyards will construct and provide to the Israel Navy 5 Reshef class ships over a interval of six years, with an possibility on additional orders.
