I’m new to investing an have appeared a number of movies on analysis firm funds. I’m now attempting to use this data to an instance firm, Microsoft.

On the important thing statistics web page it says that the Working Margin 42.56% and (web) Revenue Margin is 37.63%

Let’s attempt to calculate these values with the earnings assertion gadgets on this web page, first the Working Margin:

Gross Revenue:

complete income192’557’000
price of income (COGS)60’212’000
Gross Revenue192’557’000 – 60’212’000 = 132’345’000

Working Bills:

Promoting Basic and Administrative Prices27’051’000
R&D23’350’000
Working Bills27’051’000 + 23’350’000 = 50’401’000

So:

To this point so good. However I’m having bother attending to the online revenue margin. I’ve discovered that:

  • Internet Revenue Margin = (Internet Earnings / Income) * 100%

  • Internet Earnings = Complete Income – (COGS + promoting, common and administrative prices + working bills + depreciation + curiosity + taxes + different bills)

So (line gadgets coming from Yahoo! Finance Earnings Assertion):

COGS60’212’000
Promoting Basic and Administrative Prices27’051’000
Working Bills50’401’000 (see above)
Depreciation13’825’000
Curiosity Expense2’120’000
Tax Provision10’178’000
Different Bills (I do not see any listed)0
Complete Bills136’736’000

So:

However in accordance with Yahoo! the Internet Revenue Margin = 37.63%. From this I derive that the Complete Bills in accordance with Yahoo! are 72’456’000 (as a result of (72456000 / 192’557’000) * 100% = 37.63%)

My query is: what am I doing unsuitable? My calculated Internet Earnings is (72’456’000 – 55’821’000) 16’635’000 too low, however I can not discover another line gadgets that add as much as 16’635’000.

Can somebody present me, based mostly on the road gadgets on Yahoo! Finance how I can appropriately calculate the Internet Revenue Margin? Any assistance is drastically appreciated!
