Before Cariloha fans experience one of our showrooms or our soft, sustainable products, they often see us through an image. And, at Cariloha, we strive to portray what’s in our DNA – Soft, Sustainable, Island Lifestyle – it’s the why and where behind how we got started and what our products stand for, the luxury of a resort getaway in the comfort of your own home.
But, how do we capture that feeling in a photograph?
It takes a lot of heart, vision, and effort to bring the Cariloha brand to life across many different channels, and one of our favorite people behind the camera is Jordan B., a master Cariloha photographer.
We had the pleasure of sitting down with Jordan to learn more about her inspirations and how she brings all our ideas to life through photography.
Question: Where does your inspiration come from when shooting photography for Cariloha?
Answer: My inspiration is the feeling of being on the islands mixed with the relaxed comfort of home. I love how Cariloha is a beautiful brand that brings the feel of luxury into your home, so I definitely want to create that feeling.
Question: What bed design do you like these days?
Answer: I love the look of a room that displays a comfortable, modern coastal vibe. Warm, bright and clean colors with decor pieces that bring a slice of personal nostalgia to make it your own.
Question: What do you like most about Cariloha’s soft and sustainable products?
Answer: The best thing about Cariloha products is the quality and feel. I have spent so much money on towels, sheets, blankets – you name it. They always seem to fall short and only last about a year with a fabric that feels synthetic. Cariloha’s bamboo-viscose fabric has a soft, organic feel, like it’s meant to be loved and touched by skin.
Question: What are some of your go-to Cariloha products?
Answer: This one is hard because I use Cariloha products every day, but my favorite Cariloha product would have to be my Cariloha Bedding Suite. It has everything I need for a good night’s sleep and, most days, I can’t wait to get home and go lay down and relax in my bed.
My family loves it, too, it’s our hangout place for movie nights.
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you have to experience it for yourself. It’s life changing.
Question: Why do you photograph the way you do?
Answer: I don’t want people to just look at my images and not feel something, especially in retail. Customers need to feel something when they look at your imagery to get them to visualize themselves and to feel something, which leads them to purchase confidently.
Cariloha products have a lightweight, breathable quality, and we want to visually show the soft touch, feel, and comfort of bamboo, so I really try to communicate that through my photography.
