Amanda Bynes was reportedly off her medication at the time she was discovered wandering naked in Los Angeles over the weekend. So says her ex-fiancé Paul Michael, at least. He delivered these new unsettling details to Page Six in a brief interview granted late Monday night with the news outlet.
Of course, Paul and Amanda have been in an on-and-off relationship in recent years, and were at one point engaged after Paul proposed back in February of 2020. They have apparently since split, with Michael saying the duo are just “friends now.”
But now, like everyone else, Paul is very concerned about the well-being of the Nickelodeon star. As we’ve been reporting, Bynes was found by passersby near downtown Los Angeles early on Sunday morning. She was totally naked when she flagged down a car and asked for help with a “psychotic episode.” First responders quickly admitted her to a hospital on a 72-hour 5150 psychiatric hold.

According to Michael, this weekend’s terrifying episode came about after the All That alum stopped taking the prescribed medications that were assisting her mental well-being and daily functioning. He told the news outlet:
“She got off her meds, and she’s still off her meds.”
And in just two more words, he added this unsettling statement:
“She’s wild.”
So scary.
Innerestingly, other sources said some in her inner circle were worried Amanda was abusing prescription drugs. They could both be right, of course.
The 36-year-old star had appeared to be doing better in recent times after many high-profile challenges in her young adult years. Almost exactly one year ago now, the 8-year-long conservatorship Amanda’s parents had put in place for her was terminated by a judge overseeing the case. She was even talking about an acting comeback.
But that has all been thrown into question now. And while Bynes’ parents have already indicated they will not re-file for another conservatorship, the former child star is very clearly not well.

Paul indicated as much in his follow-up comments to Page Six on Monday night. Referencing their July 2022 breakup — in which Amanda publicly accused him of “relapsing with crack cocaine” and watching “mom and son porn” — the former television star’s ex recalled:
“She tried to kick me out, but I left to get my own place. I moved home and established boundaries.”
He now claims the What I Like About You alum “lied” about past drug use and delivered the accusations against him “in order to keep the attention off her.” Paul concluded:
“She acted to shame me away. She lied and cheated and had too many flings the entire time [they were a couple].”
Whoa.
That’s quite an accusation! As Perezcious readers may recall, also on Tuesday morning, we reported about the existence of a very concerning viral TikTok video in which Bynes appears to be out of it while walking on the streets of Hollywood last Friday. Could the episode have lasted all weekend? Longer?
Whatever is going on with the history between Paul and Amanda, we continue to hold out hope that this psychiatric hold will be the beginning of some stability in her life. Sending love and light…
