Kane Fritzler is a contestant on season 44 of ‘Survivor.’

Kane Fritzler could be the dark horse of Survivor 44. The 25-year-old Canadian law student was on the wrong side of the vote in the first episode, but he’s turned things around by staying quiet and bonding with his fellow castaways. Kane is a member of the strong Ratu tribe and he has a great chance of making it to the merge, where he can use his smarts to outwit the other players. Here’s everything you need to know about Kane.

Kane is Canadian.

Kane is from Moose Jaw, Canada, but now he lives in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He’s the only Canadian on this season of Survivor. But he’s in good company, considering recent winners Erika Casupanan and Maryanne Oketch are also from Canada!

He went to college in Canada.

Kane attended the University of Saskatchewan, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Physics & Astronomy, according to his LinkedIn. He graduated in 2019.

He’s a law student.

Kane was a law student at the University of Saskatchewan at the time of when he played Survivor. After filming in Fiji, he graduated from the College of Law with a juris doctor degree. Kane was also the Law Student Association VP of Student Wellness & VP of Administration in law school, according to his LinkedIn.

He has a girlfriend.

Kane has been dating his girlfriend Kat since at least 2016, his Instagram reveals. He told Parade magazine that Kat told him to “have fun and be yourself” before Survivor, and he’s stuck to that advice so far.

He’s a big ‘Survivor’ fan.

“I started watching Survivor basically when I started watching TV,” Kane said in his Parade interview. “As a kid, my grandma and my brother would always watch it with me. So my grandma kind of got me into it. And then, even after she passed away, me and my brother and I continued to watch it together. Even after he moved away, it was something that we would stay connected to.”
