The Trumps were on full display in a Manhattan courtroom this month, adorned in the family colors of black and blue.
They were at different times evasive, contradictory, threatening and untruthful. And with their fingers pointed elsewhere, they blamed everybody but themselves for their current legal predicament.
And just as Donald Trump’s father (and Roy Cohn) taughthim the fine art of dodging and weaving, the Trump kids have all learned how to avoid the truth at all costs and divert attention when cornered.
One by one, they played at being dumb while blaming accountants, bankers and financial advisers for all the confusion over their father’s investments.
Worst of all, Donald Sr. was hostile and vindictive when faced with the danger of losing his wealth, business and reputation as a big-time player in New York.
If this is the portrait of our next first family, then this nation is in need of either fresh paints or a different perspective when viewing the subject matter.
Or both.
