On Oct. 8, former President Donald Trump made the incredible claims that Hamas’ attack on Israel and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine would not have happened if he were still in office. This followed his statement in March that he could solve the Ukrainian conflict within 24 hours of being elected again.
These are incredible claims that would require all of us to accept historical revisionism from a congenital liar who, as Judge Arthur Engoron described in Trump’s New York civil fraud case, is living in a “fantasy world.”
With regards to Israel, Trump wants us to forget that he described as “very fine people” white nationalists chanting “Jews will not replace us” in 2017 in Charlottesville, Va. And what about Trump’s coziness with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who, like Trump, wants to be an authoritarian and revise the laws of Israel to make him an autocrat and dictator?
And what credentials does Trump have in dealing with foreign extremists like Hamas?
Second, with regards to the Ukraine crisis, Trump was aptly described by Hillary Clinton as Vladimir Putin’s puppet, and Trump was beholden to Putin because of Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election that resulted in him winning the presidency. Trump also unsuccessfully attempted to extort Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zeleskyy. Would Trump do anything positive for Ukraine after attempting to extort its leader?
Nothing should be believed if claimed by Trump, who has been indicted four times on 91 charges, based on his track record.
