Donald Trump, America’s 45th president and the current leader of the Republican Party, planned, organized and incited a violent mob to attack our Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
He did so for the purpose of preventing the peaceful transfer of political power following his loss in the 2020 election. The peaceful transfer of power is what distinguishes America from dictatorships around the world.
When his insurrection failed and he reluctantly left office, Trump took with him hundreds of America’s military and nuclear secrets. If he didn’t purposely share them with our enemies, photos of the documents stacked in cardboard boxes around his golf club show that he recklessly exposed our most critical secrets to everyone who had access to Mar-a-Lago — employees, guests and intruders.
When I think about Trump and his co-conspirators in these crimes against America, the one thought that comes to mind is the old saying, “with friends like that, who needs enemies?”
