Shia LaBeouf Arrested AGAIN In New Orleans – Read His Statement!

Shia LaBeouf has been arrested again!

According to TMZ, online records show that the 39-year-old actor was taken into a county jail in New Orleans at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. He has been charged with one additional count of simple battery.

As we previously reported, Shia was arrested last week for two counts of simple battery after he got into a fight outside a bar during Mardi Gras. Police claimed he hurled the F-word as he punched two men on the street and possibly dislocated one of their noses. He allegedly called the cops the homophobic slur after being arrested, too. Although Shia was released on his own recognizance, meaning he didn’t have to post bond, a judge ordered him to pay a $100,000 bond due to using the homophobic slur.

He was also told to attend mandatory rehab and participate in a drug-testing program. However, the Transformers alum doesn’t think he has a drinking problem. Oh, and he feels “big gay people are scary,” which is what he said set him off before his arrest during a homophobic interview.

Reports say it is unclear if the new charge stems from the previous incident, but we reported on Saturday morning that police issued a new warrant for him stemming from the alleged battery. Attorneys representing the Disney star issued a statement following the arrest news to slam the harsh treatment from the police and courts:

“When we learned that NOPD issued a new arrest warrant yesterday for the same February 17 incident, Mr. LaBeouf voluntarily turned himself in to the Orleans Parish jail. No regular person would be required to post over $100,000 in bonds, and be jailed two separate times for one misdemeanor incident. Just as he does not deserve preferential treatment, Mr. LaBeouf also does not deserve to be treated more harshly by the police and courts just because he is a public figure.”

We’ll keep you posted on what happens next in this messy controversy! Reactions? Tell us in the comments!
