Rosenior personally plotting Chelsea move to sign Real Madrid’s Franco Mastantuono

Liam Rosenior is now plotting a move to sign a Real Madrid wonderkid as his first reinforcement as Chelsea manager, according to reports.

Rosenior shuts down Palmer rumours: “He is very happy”

When it comes to the results, Rosenior can certainly have no complaints at the start of his Chelsea career. The Blues have won three of the four games that he has taken charge of, and only narrowly lost out to Arsenal in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final tie.

Away from the pitch, however, it hasn’t been an easy ride. A January case of the flu has been sent around the Chelsea dressing room and that has certainly handed Rosenior an unnecessary headache, whilst recent rumours that Cole Palmer is homesick in London also haven’t helped.

The former Strasbourg boss has been forced to shut those rumours down, telling reporters earlier this week: “I’ve had numerous conversations with Cole and he seems very happy to be here, he is very happy to be here.

“He’s a huge part of our plans in the long term. He’s an outstanding player. Every player goes through difficult moments in their career in terms of injury. It’s not any reflection of his quality.”

If Rosenior’s words are anything to go by then Chelsea fans can expect to see Palmer at Stamford Bridge beyond the 2026. And has he looks to rediscover his best form, there’s no understating just how important that will be for the Blues.

Outside of the Palmer rumours, those in West London have also been linked with reinforcements of their own. Recent reports have claimed interest in the likes of Jeremy Jacquet, who has been a leading target to arrive, and he could be joined by a Real Madrid wonderkid before the end of the month.

Rosenior personally plotting Mastantuono move

According to reports in Spain, Rosenior is now personally plotting a move to sign Franco Mastantuono from Real Madrid in what is most likely to be a loan deal.

The 18-year-old Argentine arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu for as much as £38.5m in the summer and has naturally faced the tough task of breaking into their starting side.

Now, Chelsea are reportedly looking to add yet another young talent to their side and hand him the game time that he is yet to receive in Spain.

Whilst he should not be panicking about his minutes, given his tender age, there would be no harm in taking a spell in the Premier League or elsewhere. Endrick, for example, is thriving at Lyon since arriving on loan this month.

Mastantuono has already received impressive praise during his time at Madrid, including from former manager Xabi Alonso, who said: “Regarding Franco… we’re happy, because he’s a kid with a fantastic present and an incredible future. His maturity translates off the pitch.”

It doesn’t get much better than that for the South American, who is certainly one to watch.
