Petrol-Diesel Prices Today, January 2: The price of petrol and diesel remained unchanged on Monday, 2 January. Fuel prices have not changed in the last seven months. The oil marketing companies revise fuel prices every morning at 6:00 AM. The last major country-wide fluctuation in fuel prices was witnessed in May when the Centre cut the excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 per litre and Rs 6 per litre on diesel.
Petrol, Diesel latest prices in major metropolitan Cities
The retail price for petrol and diesel in New Delhi is Rs 96.72 and Rs 89.62 per litre, respectively,
The current cost of petrol and diesel in Mumbai is Rs 106.31 and Rs 94.27 a litre, respectively.
People in Chennai have to pay Rs Rs 102.63 and Rs 94.24 a litre for petrol and diesel, respectively.
In Kolkata, the price of petrol is Rs. 106.03 and that of diesel is Rs. 92.76 a litre.
In NOIDA, the price for diesel is Rs 89.96 and Rs 96.79 for Petrol.
Fuel prices are revised in line with international benchmark prices and foreign exchange rates by public sector oil marketing companies (OMCs). OMCs include Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL).
