A new virus in America is wreaking more havoc than even COVID in its heyday. First detected among lawyers, media pundits and political party organizers, this new malady appears to have most recently manifested among Supreme Court justices as they were initiating questioning of parties bringing the Colorado ballot case.
This new germ can be called “History-deficiency 19.” It attacks those who have no idea how the great democracies of the past handled the problem of political mobsters — impeachment, deprivation of rights such as voting and office-holding, and even exile, but never full and continuing civil enfranchisement.
The new virus leaves its victims with the childlike belief that every rogue felon, fraudster, sexual predator and insurrectionist must be allowed on the ballot and enabled to continue his or her work of undermining law and society.
It is not known at this time if the country can survive this disorder. Viruses that attack the body at least leave the mind intact, but this virus takes even that away.
