The whole world, which evidently includes Myles Garrett and other members of the Cleveland Browns, had their eyes on Qatar this morning for the FIFA World Cup Final between Argentina and France. Lionel Messi led his team to victory and for Garrett, the debate over the greatest of all time was over.
Garrett took to Twitter to voice his opinion.
I don’t want to hear anymore debates.. Messi the 🐐
He tweeted:
“I don’t want to hear anymore debates.. Messi the [goat].”
There have been a lot of debates over the greatest player in soccer history. It’s not as clear as the debate in other sports because no one has really achieved the dominance over their peers like Tom Brady has in the NFL.
Zach Wilson’s promotion back to starter makes the Detroit Lions a favorite to win over his New York Jets.
There are a lot of different players that have been considered in that conversation, namely Messi’s counterpart Cristiano Ronaldo. For Garrett, the debate is over. Messi is the greatest to ever touch a soccer ball.
Did Myles Garrett win his game this week?
Myles Garrett was able to watch the FIFA World Cup Final largely because he and the Cleveland Browns are not playing today. For the first time all season, games were held on Saturday and one of them involved the Browns.
The Browns faced division rival Baltimore Ravens on Saturday and emerged victorious.
They won 13-3 after a dominant defensive effort. Though it was against backup quarterback Tyler Huntley, it was still a dominant effort from Garrett and company.
How did Argentina prevail in FIFA World Cup Final?
Messi cemented his status as the greatest of all time, at least according to Myles Garrett, with an incredible victory. It was perhaps the greatest game of all time.
The Argentinian side jumped out to a 2-0 lead thanks to a Messi penalty and another goal. The French retaliated with two goals (one penalty) from Kylian Mbappe in the 80th and 81st minute to force extra time.
That’s where Messi scored again, but yielded a penalty kick to Mbappe who tied it. In penalty kickes, the Argentinians scored four kicks to the French’s two. Messi and Argentina won the Final as a result
