NEW YORK (Reuters) -Fb proprietor Meta mentioned on Monday it was banning RT, Rossiya Segodnya and different Russian state media networks from its platforms, claiming the retailers had used misleading ways to hold out covert affect operations on-line.

The ban marks a pointy escalation in actions by the world’s greatest social media firm in opposition to Russian state media, after it spent years taking extra restricted steps similar to blocking the retailers from operating advertisements and lowering the attain of their posts.

“After cautious consideration, we expanded our ongoing enforcement in opposition to Russian state media retailers.
