Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META) announced on Tuesday that it is expanding its testing for advertising expansion on Facebook Reels, giving creators the ability to earn based on the performance of their public reels.
In a blog post, Meta (META) said the change was important so creators could be paid based on the performance of their Reels, allowing them to earn more if the Reels performs better.
“This means creators can focus on creating engaging content while we optimize the ad experience for advertisers and people,” Meta (META) wrote in the post.
In addition, Meta (META) said a similar test would be coming to Instagram in the “coming weeks.”
To be eligible for the Facebook program, creators need to live in one of 52 countries and meet certain requirements, including being 18 years or older and have already passed the monetization policies set forth by Facebook.
Meta (META) shares fell fractionally in mid-day trading on Tuesday, outperforming the broader Nasdaq.
