Wide receiver Mecole Hardman has won three Super Bowls with the Kansas City Chiefs. He was the hero of Super Bowl LVIII, hauling in the game-winning TD in overtime.
Now Hardman, 25, is set to hit the open market, and there is already one team he has crossed off his list — the one he originally started the 2023 season with.
“No,” Hardman told NFL Total Access when asked about a Gang Green reunion. “I won’t go back to the Jets.”
Hardman signed a one-year, $4 million contract with New York during the 2023 offseason. Despite reported “big plans” for the speedy receiver, Hardman played just 30 total snaps – 28 on offense – across five games with the Jets. When Hardman got traded to the Chiefs midseason, he had one reception for six yards on three targets. Hardman finished the Super Bowl with three receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown.
“It was a roller coaster,” Hardman said about his time with the Jets before the Super Bowl. “Things definitely didn’t go like I wanted it to go. I guess I just wasn’t on the same page with everybody.
“There’s no bad blood over there. I’m happy for everybody over there. I’m still cool with some of those guys. I wish them the best. I think things happened like it was supposed to.”
As for returning to the Super Bowl Champions, Hardman is open to the opportunity.
“We’ll just see if they want me back,” Hardman said. “If not, it might be somewhere else, so we’ll see.”
