The Clark County Education Association has paid $200,000 toward the election campaigns of Nevada Assembly Speaker Steve Yeager and $100,000 to that of state Senate Majority Leader Nicole Cannizzaro.
What does the union get in return? Two political hacks calling for the resignation of Clark County School District Superintendent Jesus Jara.
What they should be publicly pondering is why the union has not put the current CCSD offer before the membership, which would save both the CCEA and CCSD money, rather than going through the expensive and time delaying arbitration process.
The union leaders would need to eat crow upon acceptance of the contract offer by the membership.
The membership should dump this union and get another with a clear objective of representing their needs rather than wasting dues acquiring talking marionettes.
