The Los Angeles Lakers put together an impressive 19-point comeback against the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night to move to 40-32 on the season. They were led by the trio of Anthony Davis (34 points, 23 rebounds, four blocks), Austin Reaves (29 points, 14 rebounds, 10 assists) and D’Angelo Russell (29 points, 12 assists) on a night where star LeBron James was sidelined as the team managed his ankle injury.
Each player’s performance was noteworthy, but together, they achieved a nearly unheard-of NBA feat. Davis, Reaves and Russell combined for 92 points, 44 rebounds and 24 assists, marking the first time three players on the same team have combined to reach the 90/40/20 mark in a single game in more than 50 years.
The previous trio? Another set of Lakers in Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West and Happy Hairston, who did so on January 24, 1971, as OptaStats revealed.
