Juventus will make Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte their top managerial target should they decide to part ways with Massimiliano Allegri in the near future, 90min understands, but completing such a deal will prove tricky.
The Bianconeri have made a slow start to the new season, winning just two of their opening Serie A matches and losing both Champions League group stage games thus far.
Allegri’s pragmatic style has also been brought into question and he is under intense pressure to turn Juve’s fortunes around.
90min understands that some Juventus chiefs would like to replace Allegri with Conte, despite the latter kicking up a fuss on his way out of the club back in 2014.
Conte notably wanted to sign Juan Cuadrado – now ironically at Juventus – from Fiorentina, but his request was denied, and he was upset with the sale of Arturo Vidal, resigning soon after these decisions were made. He was replaced by Allegri for his first stint at the club.
Despite his sour exit and high-profile grievances on his return with bitter rivals Inter in recent years, Conte is on good terms with some of Juve’s hierarchy. His wife and daughter also still reside in Turin.
However, Juventus’ financial problems mean that a pursuit of Conte would be rather difficult. They are expected to confirm annual losses of nearly €250m, while sacking Allegri could cost another €36m.

Furthermore, while Conte’s current deal at Spurs expires at the end of the current season, the club retain an option to trigger a one-year extension.
90min also understands that Tottenham would like to have Conte a new contract, but it is unlikely that talks will begin before this winter’s World Cup.
The 53-year-old was previously top of PSG’s managerial shortlist to replace Mauricio Pochettino earlier this year, but ended up staying at Spurs, who have made an unbeaten start to the new Premier League season.
