John Cena, The Rock and Travis Scott formed an alliance at Elimination Chamber: Toronto last year, but it fell flat afterward due to a variety of reasons. Cena has recently confirmed what really happened with his storyline with Rocky and Scott.

One of the biggest moments in WWE history was Cena finally turning heel, which also happened during his farewell tour. There were a lot of expectations afterward, but there was barely a follow-up. The Final Boss hasn’t shown up since the turn, and Scott bailed after intefering at WrestleMania 41.

Speaking on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast with O’Shea Jackson Jr. and TJ Jefferson, John Cena discussed the ever-changing plans in WWE regardless of your place in the match card. That’s when he brought up learning how to pivot, like how he did when The Rock and Travis Scott storyline didn’t work out.

“It happens from the top of the card down to the bottom. They will switch. They will cut your time. They will give you different creative. It happens all the time. So I didn’t flip out when Travis didn’t want to do it anymore, when The Rock chose to go another way. It happens,” Cena said.

John Cena seemingly confirmed that Travis Scott didn’t want to do it anymore after not anticipating how hard wrestling was on the body. As for The Rock, it’s unclear what he wanted to do after the heel turn because there has been no update regarding his status as The Final Boss on WWE television.

John Cena was originally planned to win his 17th World Title at SummerSlam 2021

In the same appearance on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast, John Cena revealed that he was originally supposed to win the WWE Universal Championship from Roman Reigns at SummerSlam 2021.

However, WWE changed direction because they felt like Reigns would benefit from a long title run, which was the right call. Cena also shared that Brock Lesnar’s appearance after that match was a last-minute change. Lesnar wasn’t signed to a contract until a few hours before the show.
