A WOMAN built a tiny home at the bottom of her garden and turned it into a “very lucrative” side-hustle.
Gill, an almost-retiree from Australia, designed her own adorable house-on-wheels, which is always fully-booked by people who want a taste of the tiny house living.

Set close to the ocean and among the stunning scenery of vineyards, Gill spent £70k building a tiny home to rent out on AirBnb.
It’s got two bedrooms, a luxury kitchen, patio, “chill-out” zone and incredible coastal views.
“This is for me a very special place, it was my dream, it’s been my dreams for years,” Gill says in an interview with Living Big In A Tiny House.
After working long hours at a stressful job, Gill wanted to slow down and start making a plan for her retirement years.

That’s where the idea for an AirBnB came to her just as she watched the tiny house movement taking off.
She said: “When you get to about 60 or thereabouts, you think ‘how am I going to live? What am I going to live off?’
“I’m not an investor but I really like buildings and I like designs, so that was something I could really get excited about.”
The property now brings in a tasty amount of profit for the owner, who says it’s a “very lucrative” side-hustle for her.
Gill takes the viewer on a tour of her property, showing off all the clever and unique home designs that worked to fit everything a guest might need into the minute space.
It’s got stairs that slide into the wall, foldable shutters for privacy in the bedroom and a “cosy” loft area that doubles as an extra bedroom.
She excitedly tells the interviewer: “When I got it I came marching down the road and thought ‘I’ve fallen in love with something'”.
The Aussie retiree pins it as a “romantic” holiday destination for couples or anyone who wants to “try out tiny home living”.
Having rented it out for two years, Gill says she “loves” being an AirBnB host as you gets to share the space and the wildlife with others.
She also likes to hang out there when she gets a chance.
“I feel like it’s a home away from home…It makes me feel happy”.
