How long will JK Dobbins be out?

According to NFL Network correspondent Ian Rapoport on Friday, JK Dobbins is having knee surgery to remove damaged tissue from a prior ACL reconstruction. Dobbins will be out for four to six weeks.

Ravens’ standout RB J.K. Dobbins is expected to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery next week that would sideline him 4-6 weeks, per sources.

The Baltimore Ravens attack will miss a key component for the conceivable future. Dobbins has played in four matches for the Ravens this campaign, accumulating 123 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown in 35 attempts. Additionally, he has scored a receiving TD.

The third-year running back, who was out for the entire 2021-22 season due to an ACL injury, is expected to miss additional time with the injury.

According to head coach John Harbaugh, Dobbins noticed his knee stiffen up during the Ravens’ Week 6 matchup against the New York Giants.

Harbaugh stated earlier last week:

“JK’s knee tightened up on him. Simply put, he didn’t feel as explosive in the second half. However, I believe he may have touched it at some point.”

At that point, the desire was for him to be capable of returning as soon as possible. But it was clear in Week 7 that Dobbins wouldn’t be making a quick comeback.

JK Dobbins’ campaign hurdled with injuries

JK Dobbins missed the first two games of the campaign before playing again in Week 3 and producing unspectacular results. The Ravens kept him on a pitch count to prevent his knee, which was still not fully recovered, from suffering any more harm.

Clearly, their strategy was ineffective. In the team’s Week 6 defeat to the New York Giants, Dobbins re-aggravated his knee and was forced to sit out the entire second half. It was discovered that his ailment was more critical than earlier thought after missing training this past week.

Running back Gus Edwards, who missed the 2021-22 season due to a ruptured ACL, is anticipated to return in the upcoming weeks. However, the Ravens will most likely rely on running backs Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill for now.

The Ravens’ best rusher this year with 451 yards and two touchdowns is quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Hate to see JK Dobbins ruled out. Ravens should be okay w/ Justice, Drake & maybe Gus Bus. Lamar Jackson will get rush yards too. But hopefully JK didn’t suffer a serious setback and this is just a cautious decision with 2 games in 5 days. He’s worked so hard & loves this game.
