On February 26, 2026, BTS member Jungkook went live on Weverse and candidly shared his recent thoughts and feelings with fans. During the broadcast, the singer spoke openly about personal changes he had been experiencing while preparing for the group’s upcoming album Arirang.
At one point in the live, Jungkook reflected on how much he feels he had changed lately. He admitted feeling somewhat frustrated during the preparation process and said the emotions made him think deeply about his life and motivations. The singer shared,
“While preparing (for the album) I think and reflect a lot. I noticed my thoughts, personality & stuff changed a lot. I felt kind of frustrated. Idk how to explain it’s crazy & annoying”
The idol also expressed his long-standing desire to communicate more freely with fans. However, he acknowledged that being a public figure comes with limitations.
“I’ve always wanted to be honest with ARMY. For real. Honestly, if it weren’t for the company, I probably would have said everything. If I say it this way, doesn’t it make the company look like garbage?” The idol shared.
He also clarified that any restrictions were not the fault of his agency, emphasizing that the company has consistently tried to protect him and the group and explained,
“The company didn’t do anything that wrong. The company always stays neutral. They’ve always looked after us like this. So I’m really grateful to them. Please don’t hate the company too much. The company is really great.”
Following the broadcast, clips and translations quickly spread across social media. Some users began linking Jungkook’s emotional comments about wanting to share more of his life to his long-running alleged dating speculation involving aespa’s Winter. The two idols were previously the subject of unconfirmed relationship rumors online, with some fans citing alleged similarities such as tattoos and other coincidental details.
However, a significant portion of the fandom pushed back strongly against these interpretations. Many fans argued that Jungkook’s comments were clearly about his personal growth, artistic pressure, and communication struggles not about any romantic relationship. Several users stressed that the singer never mentioned dating during the live. One fan wrote:
“Just admitting your ignorance here bc he said nothing about dating.”
Fans continued to emphasize that Jungkook never mentioned dating during the livestream, accusing others of spreading misinformation for clicks and likes.
As debate continued online, fans urged others to take the singer’s words at face value and avoid linking his personal reflections to unconfirmed rumors.
Jungkook holds candid late-night Weverse live, opens up about life changes ahead of BTS comeback
On February 26, Jungkook of BTS hosted a late-night livestream on Weverse at around 3 a.m. KST, where he spoke with fans for over an hour. The broadcast was later removed but quickly drew widespread attention online for its unfiltered tone.
Early in the stream, Jungkook revealed he was at home with his brother and a few friends after returning from an outing. The group had been drinking and later gathered around his home karaoke setup. During the live, he invited one of his friends to sing and also performed several songs himself.
Throughout the broadcast, Jungkook touched on multiple topics, including BTS’s upcoming comeback, his current state of mind, and recent lifestyle changes. He shared that he had recently quit smoking, explaining that he previously smoked heavily but chose to stop due to concerns about his health and vocal condition.
The singer also spoke about wanting to live more freely and comfortably. He emphasized that his drive to improve in singing and dancing primarily comes from his own passion for music. At the same time, he noted that he was aware not everyone supported him, but he remained thankful to fans who continue to stand by him.
As the conversation became more personal, voices believed to be his brother and friends were heard warning him about potentially oversharing. Jungkook acknowledged their concerns and briefly considered ending the livestream, mentioning that clips would likely circulate online and that the broadcast might later be deleted.
Near the end of the live, the group briefly discussed eating ramyeon, which Jungkook said he was craving. However, the plan was dropped after a friend reminded him that he had an early schedule connected to BTS’s comeback in roughly three hours. He eventually wrapped up the stream by asking fans to anticipate the group’s upcoming album and said he would return to live again when he felt like it.
Following the broadcast, Jungkook posted on Weverse asking fans to wait a little longer for the album. He promised to do his best for the group’s return and expressed appreciation for supporters. He also continued replying in the comments, thanking fans and noting that he, the members, and the company had worked hard on the new release.
BTS are currently preparing to release their fifth studio album ARIRANG on March 20, 2026.
