“You are one pain-in-the-butt brat.” Prepare for this one! 🐈 GKids has debut a really enjoyable new teaser trailer for the Japanese animated movie Ghost Cat Anzu, now set for US theatrical launch this November. What a wonderfully intelligent teaser to present provide a style. This movie lately premiered on the 2024 Cannes Movie Competition and it already opened in Japanese cinemas earlier this summer time. It is a rotoscoped 2D anime movie that is co-directed by the nice Nobuhiro Yamashita, who typically makes live-action movies. Precocious tween Karin finds herself deserted by her father in rural Japan. Dwelling in a temple together with her grandfather, she meets Anzu, a large “ghost cat” and infamous “layabout” tasked with taking care of her. Distrustful of her new guardian, Karin befriends the eccentric native forest spirits. Mirai Moriyama performs the titular Anzu, and Noa Gotō voices Karin. Each performed their characters live-action that turned the reference for the animators, with each their dialogue and their actions being became animation (as seen right here). That is such a delightfully amusing teaser that reveals simply how offbeat and kooky this animated movie is. Hold an eye fixed out for it this fall.
