Some have already seen a screening of the Warner Bros. squashed live-action hybrid animated movie Coyote vs. Acme, and they’re giving a big endorsement on social. As we reported the Warner Bros new motion picture administration of Michael De Luca, Pam Abdy and animation head Bill Damaschke axed the film for a $30M tax writedown. However, now the movie is being shopped with Apple, Amazon and Netflix taking interest. We hear that some of those streamers have yet to see the movie.
Said Lego Movie co-director and Spider-verse producer Christopher Miller, “I saw COYOTE VS ACME and it’s delightful. Funny, charming, good physical comedy timing, with a surprising amount of heart. I hope several studios go after it so the world can see all the good work people did.
Added Spider-verse producer Phil Lord, “Coyote vs. Acme is wonderful. @dgreenmachine nails it. Hilarious smart existential and moving and moves this all time character more relevant than ever.”
Says Human Giant and NTSF: SD: SUV EP and comedian Paul Scheer on Threads “Coyote vs. Acme might be the best version of the Looney Tunes on the Big Screen ever. @dgreenmachine & samyburch nailed it. It’s got jokes, it’s got heart and it’s got Will Forte. You can’t miss (also the deep pulls w/ cartoon cameos are A+).
Deadpool and The Martian producer Aditya Sood writes, “COYOTE VS. ACME achieves the most difficult of all feats: a Looney Tunes movie that Messrs. Avery, Jones and Maltese would be very very proud of. It’s a delight and hopefully it finds its audience very soon. Congrats @dgreenmachine and co.!!!”
