Kudos to author of the Dec. 4 letter “Converse up towards cruelty of rodeo.”
Numerous animals have paid with their lives to fulfill individuals’s need to play cowboy. Cattle are zapped with electrical hotshots in order that they’ll cost out of the chute, calves have their necks twisted as they’re violently slammed into the bottom, and horses are viciously spurred into bucking. Animals have suffered damaged backs and necks, coronary heart assaults and aneurysms.
Those that handle to make it via unscathed are given little time to relaxation or recuperate. They’re loaded into vehicles, hauled to the following occasion, and compelled to take part over and over. “Retirement” is a a method journey to the slaughterhouse.
Rodeos belong in historical past books.
