Maelstrom, a decentralization-focused enterprise agency managed by the household workplace of BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes, introduced in a press launch Thursday that Jon Atack (GitHub profile) is the second recipient of its Bitcoin Grant Program, to proceed his analysis and growth work. Based on a bio, Atack began contributing to Bitcoin Core in 2019 and not too long ago was made a maintainer and editor of the Bitcoin Enchancment Proposals (BIPs) repository. “Bitcoin is not excellent,” Atack stated within the press launch. “Amongst different issues, it wants additional decentralization, continued vigilance, evaluation, bug-fixing, updates, upkeep and improved robustness, efficiency, privateness, scaling, documentation and consumer expertise.” Maestrom awarded its first developer grant earlier this month, after unveiling this system in July. The aim is to fund open-source Bitcoin builders, since in contrast to many more moderen crypto initiatives, Bitcoin has no single firm or basis driving the technique or offering top-down funding.
