We had the great opportunity to sit down with Quinn, one of Cariloha’s Product Managers, who helps design Cariloha bamboo products, and we’re giving you her unique product design perspective.
Question: Where does your inspiration come from when designing Cariloha products?
Answer: I try to design things I would want and use, honestly. My approach to design is to make things I’d want to use or that solve a problem I have. It’s way more fun to design something you actually love.
Question: What bed design do you like these days?
Answer: I feel like with a bed design, or even a room design, you should be as excited to get home to it as you are to go out. I like for my home to feel like a permanent hotel suite that I just happen to live in. For my bedroom, that means neutral colors, mixed metallic accent pieces, and great lighting. Not to mention a comfy bed you want to jump into and curl up in.
Question: What do you like most about Cariloha products?
Answer: I love that the materials we use are high quality, natural, and just as sustainable as they are comfy. The thought process that goes behind each product is amazing. We really care about the smallest details to make sure everything is perfect for our customers.
Question: What are some of your go-to Cariloha products?
Answer: I really love our sheets and adjustable base. My sleep is so much better now that I have these. And, I highly recommend some of our upcoming products we have in the works. I can’t quite mention what they are yet, but I can say they’re going to be awesome, so stay tuned.
Question: Why do you design the way you do?
Answer: I love that the things that come from my mind make their way into people’s wardrobes and homes. It makes me happy to make beautiful things that work for people. It’s like a work of art – I worked long and hard on a beautiful masterpiece and now it’s on display in someone’s home, and they love it just as much as I do, if not more. It’s an incredible feeling.
When Quinn isn’t designing soft, sustainable products you can find her dipping her hand into something new. Quinn loves to learn new things, while also stretching her skills at designing and making clothes. Currently, she’s mastering 3D design, rendering and animation. It’s a love for learning that drives her passions, and she looks forward to the challenge of tomorrow.
