So what was REALLY going on with Aubrey Plaza at the SAG Awards?
ICYMI, at last night’s ceremony The White Lotus cast got onstage and accepted the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series award! However, some cast members looked more thrilled than others… The internet went wild when fans watching the award show noticed just how annoyed Aubrey looked. Which is odd considering she was receiving such a big honor. She should be happy about that, right?

Viewers were left confused and annoyed when right after F. Murray Abraham dedicated a prayer of peace to Russia and Ukraine the 38-year-old actress could be seen visibly angry and even mouthing “Jesus Christ” instead of clapping when her co-star shouted “Union Forever!” At what point she also seemingly mouthed:
“What the f**k?”

Some social media users guessed, rather uncharitably, that she was being hateful and her reactions were in direct response to the prayer. Others suggested she was mad for the win after she was seen being the first one to rush offstage. Confused viewers took to Twitter and wrote:
“Why was Aubrey Plaza so mad to win for The White Lotus?
She looked like she haaaaated being up there and immediately ran off stage while everyone in the cast was congratulating and hugging each other.
Is Aubrey Plaza okay? Seriously.”
Now we can put all speculation to rest, though, as it seems we finally have answers as to what really happened. An insider for DailyMail.com explained the entire chaotic situation:
“There were a couple of different things going on in that moment. First, she was told that her boob was hanging out which would cause any woman to be uncomfortable.”
The Michael Kors crisscross bodice dress she was wearing was very risqué and showed some under-boob — it would be very easy to have an unwanted wardrobe malfunction in that kind of dress, so no wonder she panicked! But there wasn’t anything going on — maybe her co-star was just confused? And she thought it was a REAL nip slip in front of millions?? Makes sense.
The other issue? Nearly getting hit in the face! The source continued:
“Then she was almost elbowed in the face and her reaction was a direct result of that.”
Yeah, with so many actors onstage it makes sense there might be some shuffling issues! Thankfully it was nothing major in the end. Continuing, the insider dished:
“Aubrey is extremely expressive, and she is also very sarcastic. She is very proud of her work on White Lotus.”
The source insists the Parks and Recreation star’s facial expressions and reactions had nothing to do with any other cast member or the show at all. So everyone can rest easy tonight knowing there’s no White Lotus beef!
