Asia Cup 2023 How India could clash with Pakistan thrice in Sri Lanka Check full schedule India matches venues Ind v pak India vs pakistan

Asia Cup 2023, Full schedule, Itinerary, Fixtures, India vs Pakistan Match: The Asia Cup 2023 promises double the fun and excitement as Team India are scheduled to play arch-rivals Pakistan not once, but twice in almost a week! The full schedule for Asia Cup 2023 was announced on Wednesday where Team India will first open their Asia Cup campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan in Kandy in a group stage fixture on September 2. And as per scheduled released by Asian Cricket Council, the two teams will again clash in a Super 4 clash in Colombo on September 10.

And that’s not all. With the two teams in fine form of late, there is also a chance of a third Indo-Pak clash in a matter of only 15 days. That is, if both India and Pakistan qualify for the Asia Cup 2023 final that will be held at Colombo’s Premadasa Stadium on September 17.

Asia Cup 2023: Teams, Format, Goups, Pools

Asia Cup 2023 will be an ODI tournament played by six teams — 
 
1) India 
2) Sri Lanka
3) Nepal
4) Afghanistan
5) Bangladesh 
6) Pakistan 

Asia Cup, Group A: India, Pakistan and Nepal 

Asia Cup, Group B: Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh 

The release shared by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president Jay Shah said Pakistan will remain A1 and India will remain A2 irrespective of their positions after the first round. If either of them does not qualify, Nepal will take their position.

Similarly, in Group B, Sri Lanka will remain B1 and Bangladesh will remain B2. If any of these teams do not make it to Super 4s, Afghanistan will take their position.

Asia Cup 2023: Venues

The six-team Asia Cup is being played in Hybrid Model this year owing to team’s reservations of playing in certain countries. While Pakistan was originally scheduled to host this year’s Asia Cup, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) refused to send a team across the border. As a result of the empasse, Pakistan will host a total of four matches, while the remaining nine matches, including the Final, will be played in Sri Lanka.

As per the schedule released, four matches will be held in Pakistan’s Multan and Lahore.

While nine other games including the final will be held in Sri Lanka’s Kandy and Colombo.

The Asia Cup 2023 is a pre-cursor to the ICC World Cup will start on August 30.

Asia Cup 2023: India matches, India vs Pakistan, India vs Nepal, India vs Sri Lanka match date, venue, timing

India will open the camaign against Pakistan on Saturday, September 2 in Kandy.

After facing their arch-rivals in the tournament-opener, the Rohit Sharma-led team will have a one-day break before they face Nepal on Tuesday, September 4 at Kandy.

India will again play Pakistan in Colombo on Sunday, September 10 in Colombo.

India will play hosts Sri Lanka on Friday, September 14 in Colombo.
