The Issue: The arrest of a 21-year-old who allegedly shared classified documents on a Discord chat.
So a 21-year-old National Guardsmen disclosed dozens of intelligence documents to an online community (“Geeky leaks,” April 14).
And the Defense Department knew nothing about it? Are there documents that are being disclosed to other nations by real spies that the Defense Department knows nothing about?
That’s what I’m worried about. If you can’t control a 21-year-old, how can you identify a professional who’s been stealing documents from the intelligence community and passing them on to other nations?
I guess that’s what happens when you worry more about your employees’ feelings and being woke than protecting your nation, which you are supposed to do.

It is quite unfortunate that Jack Teixeira allegedly compromised our country and allies by revealing some of our most sensitive intelligence documents.
The brain does not fully wire in until the age of approximately 25. So young adults can make poor decisions, as it sounds like Teixeira did.
I am just glad that the FBI did not find a MAGA hat in his possession.

No one should be surprised that a young man like Jack Teixeira allegedly betrayed his country.
Our schools teach our children that the United States is an evil place, while the general culture sets their moral sense adrift. Their ethical judgment has been so debased that they feel virtuous in betrayal.

President Biden’s dismissiveness when asked about the leaked Pentagon documents indicates one of two things.
Either he doesn’t care about the information that was out there for public view and can potentially impact American foreign policy, or he wasn’t briefed by his advisers on the magnitude of the leaks.
Take your pick on which is more egregious.

The Issue: President Biden’s trip with members of his family to their ancestral homeland of Ireland last week.
So President Biden decided to discover his roots by taking a fantasy trip to Ireland (“Hunter Joe’s ‘pride’ & joy,” April 13).
Air Force One and Two are really overworked.
Can anyone tell me why Hunter Biden and other members of Joe’s family are always invited to enjoy the perks of the presidential offices?
In the meantime, New York’s brilliant legal minds are prosecuting former President Donald Trump for nothing more than what the corrupt Biden family have done.
And the beat goes on. Taxpayers are getting a royal screwing all the way around.

Biden has been in the land of Erin, traipsing through clover fields, while former Marine Paul Whelan continues to waste away in a Siberian penal colony.
And if you needed, via Google, to refresh your memory about just what those are, you might think that Brittney Griner was the only American ever held in one.
In December, Biden, speaking of Whelan, vowed, “We are not giving up.” Whelan has been held in Russia since 2018. His wrongful detainment is shared by other Americans, like Marc Fogel and Evan Gershkovich.
Where, oh where, is our avowing president? Ah, yes: He’s comparing pinky lengths with leprechauns.
