YouTuber Conor McGilligan has claimed that Leeds United should go out and sign Viktor Gyokeres amid exciting transfer rumours.
What’s the latest?
According to Phil Hay of The Athletic (via Leeds All Over), the Whites could make a move for the Coventry City striker this winter.
Indeed, the journalist claimed that Victor Orta ‘has had an eye on him’. That’s certainly backed up by the fact that the club were even linked with Gyokeres during the last transfer window.
With January now open, Leeds could have the chance to rekindle that interest and act upon it and McGilligan certainly seems to think they should.
He told the One Leeds Fan Channel, he said: “Now, that would be an extremely exciting signing.
“This guy is absolutely lighting up the Championship at the minute. I mean, that would be a little bit of a statement.”

A top talent
It’s safe to say Gyokeres has certainly done enough on the pitch of late to earn himself a rumour or too to suggest he could soon be playing for a Premier League club.
For instance, with Coventry this term, he has scored 12 league goals and also picked up a single assist in 25 league outings. Still only 24 years of age too, if he was to join a new club there is still plenty of time for him to develop into an even better striker.
With that in mind, it’s no shock to hear that McGilligan would be keen on a deal but he’s likely not the only one. Indeed, the likes of Brentford, Southampton and Crystal Palace have all also been tipped to make a move for the forward and so it looks as though Leeds will face stiff competition if they want to land Gyokeres any time soon.
